Solid State

A site specific installation made in collaboration with Harry Woodrow as part of the two-artist exhibition Solid State, at London’s Coleman Project Space in November 2014.

Angle-poise lamp / microphone hybrids were installed in the front, main space of the gallery. The sound was relayed to the back room and recorded in ever increasing layers to a tape loop strung around the room, creating a daily sonic and physical document of the exhibition. Each day saw a new pattern being made of the tape wound round the room’s many pulleys, and each day’s physical tape loop was archived on the wall of the gallery, underneath a diagram of its specific pattern.
